Restaurant reservation apps: Resy, OpenTable and TheFork
Choose a restaurant reservation app by the restaurants it actually books in your destination. Start with the venue’s official link. Resy offers Notify, OpenTable offers Notify Me, and TheFork provides restaurant discovery and booking. An availability alert still requires a successful reservation; it does not hold a table.
Match the service to the task
If you already know the restaurant, its official reservation link is the fastest way to identify the appropriate service. If you are still choosing where to eat, compare the participating restaurants for your actual destination and dates.

Resy: Notify when your preferred table is unavailable
Resy documents Notify on its website and iOS app. You choose the restaurant, date, party size and time preferences. Alerts can arrive by email and, with the iOS app and permission enabled, push notification. Follow the alert and finish booking; a notification alone is not a reservation.
OpenTable: Notify Me in the app
OpenTable’s Notify Me feature uses your selected dining preferences to send a push notification when a matching opening appears. If someone else takes that table first, another opening can trigger another alert. Check the current restaurant screen and complete the booking when a suitable option is available.
TheFork: search the destination and the meal
TheFork supports searching by location and restaurant or cuisine, then reviewing available reservations. Its site includes destinations such as Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Rome. Where an offer is shown, read its terms for the particular restaurant, service and booking before choosing it.
Compare coverage before paying for extra monitoring
Make a shortlist of restaurants before comparing a paid alert service. Check the exact branches and booking sources it supports, how it sends notifications, and whether it only reports availability or also has an explicitly authorized booking feature.
Read monitoring fees separately from the restaurant’s deposit, menu price and cancellation policy. A fee for an alert does not establish that a table will become available. Choose dates you could attend and decide when you would switch to another meal.
Where Slother fits
Slother is being developed around a Watch that keeps your dates, places and preferences together. Supported restaurant sources, live monitoring coverage and prices have not been announced.
