OpenTable availability alerts: how Notify Me works
OpenTable’s Notify Me feature sends an alert when a matching table becomes available. In the app, open the restaurant and look for Notify Me near the reservation options. Set your date, time and party size, then follow an alert to complete a booking if the table is still available.
Start in the OpenTable app
OpenTable’s official instructions describe setting a Notify Me alert from a restaurant’s reservation options in its app. A matching opening triggers a push notification. If someone else books the table first, another matching opening can trigger another alert.
Prepare the details that matter
Check your intended branch, date, party size and arrival window before saving an alert. A table at the right restaurant in the wrong city is not a useful match. Keep your party size accurate rather than trying to change it after arriving.
Decide whether outdoor, bar or counter seating would work for your group. Read any seating description in the actual booking offer rather than treating all tables as interchangeable.
If you cannot find Notify Me
Check the current restaurant screen in the app and the official help linked below. Labels and availability can vary. Do not assume that a missing control proves that the restaurant is closed or completely full.
Your next useful check is the restaurant’s own website: follow its current booking link and read any direct-contact or walk-in instructions. A separate listing or old search result can send you down the wrong route.
Use an alert as a prompt to review
When an alert arrives, check the date, local time, seating and total commitment before confirming. Do not assume the price of one dining experience applies to another service at the same restaurant.
Keep the confirmation in a place your group can find. If you have a backup reservation, deal with its cancellation before the deadline rather than leaving two tables tied up.
What about Slother?
Slother’s planned Watch is intended to keep booking preferences together and check supported sources in the background. OpenTable coverage is not confirmed. For a table you need today, use the restaurant’s current official booking options; explore Slother for its planned iOS and Android experience.
Sources checked on . Booking policies can change; confirm details on the official booking page. Slother is independent of the platforms and restaurants mentioned.
