Dishoom reservations: tables for two, evenings and walk-ins
For a Dishoom reservation for two, check the café and service first. Dishoom’s detailed FAQ accepts all party sizes until 5:45 p.m.; later reservations generally require six guests. Manchester and Birmingham are listed exceptions for smaller evening parties. Most tables are kept for walk-ins.
Can you book Dishoom for two after 6 p.m.?
The detailed FAQ distinguishes Manchester and Birmingham from the general evening rule. It also says reservable tables open up to four months ahead. For a smaller London party, an evening calendar with no results may reflect the booking policy rather than every table being occupied.
Choose between a reservation and a walk-in
Start with the experience your group wants. A booked breakfast before sightseeing solves a different problem from dinner after a show. Do not move the meal earlier unless everyone can arrive and would enjoy that service.
| Your plan | A useful next step |
|---|---|
| Two people, fixed London dinner time | Consider whether the uncertainty of a walk-in fits your evening. |
| Two people, flexible meal time | Compare breakfast, lunch and early dining with the rest of your day. |
| Six or more diners | Use the actual group size and review the group menu and booking conditions. |
| Manchester or Birmingham evening | Check that café’s current reservation calendar before ruling out a booking. |
Why the exact café matters
Dishoom has separate location pages and booking choices. Save the café name alongside the reservation, particularly if friends are traveling from different parts of London. A confirmation for Kensington will not help a group waiting in Covent Garden.
The main booking page summarizes the evening cutoff as 6 p.m., while the detailed FAQ gives 5:45 p.m. and location exceptions. Use the selected café’s live calendar for the actual times you can reserve.
Make a walk-in plan you can enjoy
Agree a maximum wait before arriving. If the host gives a longer estimate, have another meal option nearby that the group would be happy with. A wait estimate is useful planning information, not a guaranteed seating time.
For a theatre night, work backward from the time you must leave the restaurant. Include time to order, eat and travel. If that leaves very little flexibility, a confirmed earlier meal may fit better than gambling on an evening queue.
Before confirming your table
Check the date, café, party size and any menu or deposit conditions shown for that booking. If you need to change the number of guests, use the restaurant’s amendment route before arriving. Slother has not announced Dishoom monitoring; the official calendar remains the place to confirm a table.
