Disney World dining reservations: the 60-day booking window
Walt Disney World generally opens dining reservations 60 days ahead. Guests with a valid Disney Resort hotel reservation can book for their stay, up to 10 nights, from 60 days before arrival. Other guests use the 60-day window for each dining date.
Which date do you count back from?
Disney’s official FAQ separates guests with a valid Disney Resort hotel reservation from all other guests. Do not assume that every hotel near Walt Disney World qualifies for the stay-wide booking rule; confirm your reservation’s eligibility with Disney.
Count 60 calendar days, not two months
Months have different lengths. For a hypothetical November 20, 2026 dining date, counting back 60 days gives September 21, 2026. Simply choosing September 20 would be a two-month subtraction and would put your reminder on the wrong date.
If you are using the eligible hotel-stay rule, do the calculation from arrival instead. Keep a note of which rule you used so the rest of your group understands why several meals may share one booking day.
- Confirm the stay rule that applies to your reservation.
- Choose the arrival date or dining date required by that rule.
- Subtract 60 calendar days.
- Label the reminder with both the booking task and the meal dates.
- Check the live booking details before the reminder is due.
What time do dining reservations open?
Disney describes new booking windows for select restaurants as opening at approximately 6 a.m. daily. Treat that as an approximate release, and confirm the relevant time zone before setting an overseas reminder. Special experiences may have their own booking instructions.
Prepare the meals before the booking day
Make a short list with the restaurant, day, party size and acceptable meal times. Mark the choices that depend on a fixed activity. This helps you make decisions quickly without accepting a time that conflicts with the rest of the trip.
Choose alternatives by location as well as food. Moving a meal across the resort can change the whole afternoon. Review menus and the conditions of each offered experience before completing a reservation.
If the date still shows no suitable results
Recheck your date calculation, hotel-stay eligibility and actual party size. If the date is inside the right window, try another acceptable meal time. Availability is separate from eligibility: being allowed to book does not mean your first choice will have a table.
Use the cancellation-alert guide for a date that has already opened, or the mobile walk-up guide for same-day options. These are different stages of the trip, so a single empty calendar should not decide every meal plan.
